WOOOLF is the multidiciplinary design practice of Sara Blake, based in NYC's West Village and a woodland studio where you are advised to please not feed the wild animals. WOOOLF exists both as an abstract creative space and philosophy, guided by the belief that transformative design work emerges from a balance of instinct and analysis; from the space between individual autonomy and collective collaboration; from the tension between the risk of uncharted terrain and the expertise born of knowing one's domain front to back.
Nearly every product, physical space, and interaction we encounter in our daily lives exists due to countless design decisions. Decisions made by a mere few can so often shape the world for many—sometimes even all of us. From our healthcare to our consumer products, to our cities, politics, and our media, a team of creators thought deeply about how their work would make you feel, understand, and act. Design guides our entire cultural and behavioral ecosystem in a trophic cascade of material impacts. What a privilege (and responsibility) it is to have a hand in shaping our shared experience through design. And it is only through the vision and choreography of a team that the work travels further than any single contributor could alone.
As such, WOOOLF works both as an independent consultant and contributor for fast and nimble creative ideation, or as a fully integrated extension of existing teams. The practice is primarily focused in digital design in areas of fintech, sustainability, IoT ecosystems, and healthcare, supporting teams to scale products and craft brands. Additionally, WOOOLF regularly works with independent brands, publications, and local businesses to support their missions through visual design.
