WOOOLF is the multidisciplinary design practice of Sara Blake, based in NYC's West Village and a woodland studio where you are advised to please not feed the wild animals. WOOOLF exists both as an abstract creative space and as a philosophy, guided by the belief that our finest work emerges from a balance of instinct and analysis; from the space between individual autonomy and collective collaboration; from the tension between the risk of uncharted terrain and the expertise born of knowing one's domain front to back. And while a solo expedition is commendable (and sometimes necessary), it is through the choreography of a team of collaborators that a vision can travel further than any single contributor could carry it alone.
Nearly every product, communication, space, and interaction we encounter in our daily lives exists due to countless design decisions. From our healthcare to our consumer products, to our cities, politics, and our media, a team of creators thought deeply about how their work would make you feel, understand, and act. Design guides our cultural and behavioral ecosystem in a trophic cascade of material impacts, shaping our shared experience.
As such, WOOOLF works both as an independent contributor for fast and nimble creative ideation, or as a fully integrated extension of existing design teams. The practice is primarily focused in digital design in areas of fintech, sustainability, IoT ecosystems, and healthcare, supporting teams to scale products and craft memorable brands. Additionally, WOOOLF regularly works with independent ventures, publications, and local businesses, as well as continually experiments across mediums with studio-initiated projects and special artistic collaborations.
